How to Get More Natural Energy Throughout Your Day

Keeping up your energy levels throughout the day can feel (ironically) draining. What’s more, artificial means of energy boosts like energy drinks or pills are neither healthy nor effective! Here are a few ways you can get more natural energy throughout your day.

Start With Exercise

The beginning of your day can set the tone for your entire day, including the amount of energy you are able to maintain. Part of this is a mental aspect: working out in the morning tells your brain that you are alert and determined. The conscious decision to push your body and commit to greater health and progress will establish that mindset as the day continues. Find a form of exercise that works for you, that you enjoy! Whether that looks like a quick morning run, some weight training or a yoga class to get your brain and body breathing, any activity that moves and challenges your body will trigger the right kinds of energy for your body for hours to come.

Try a Detox

Cleanse your body of the wrong stuff, with the right stuff. Healthy detox processes can purge your body of damaging toxins that make metabolizing nutrients for energy difficult. Less harmful toxins equals more effective use of energy and better access to it! Start with the basics: sleep and water. Getting enough sleep and staying hydrated can naturally detox your body. Rest and water are two essential keys for your body’s functionality. Include things in your diet that support gut health and your immune system—foods that are rich in nutrients and low in (if not entirely void of) preservatives. The better the things you put into your body, the better your body will treat itself, and the more energy it will be able to channel.

Meditate

Believe it or not, taking a routine break or rest or moment of mindfulness can be very energizing. Allow yourself a little time to reset your mind and consequently your body! Taking a minute for breathing exercises, meditation, or naturally therapeutic activities like a walk or stretch routine, will refocus and ground your mind, reducing the weight that stress places on your mind. You will find the clarity and energy that your mind and body need on the other side of these meditative moments!
