Jennifer’s tips to help you get a good night’s rest: Tossing and turning at night is not fun. Neither is looking at the bedside clock every five minutes and thinking, “If I fall asleep right this second, I will get exactly three hours and eighteen minutes of sleep before I have to get up for work.” Here are some tips to help you get your sleep on: 1) If you are staring at the ceiling and you are unable to sleep, don’t do that for more than 20 minutes. Get up and do something relaxing. Consider this: maybe you’re just not tired yet, and that’s okay. Reading is a great way to relax, or meditating, or sitting quietly with your pet. …and I love what’s in the weeks ahead: Chunky sweaters Tall boots and black tights Colorful scarves artfully wrapped and knotted Mutant county fair pumpkins the size of Mini Coopers Hot chocolate and cider doughnuts Putting the warm blanket on the bed Changing leaves, falling leaves, wet leaves, crackly leaves, piles of leaves, bags of leaves… Football and marching bands New notebooks with stiff spines and clean paper An extra layer on the yoga mat: a hoodie, a long-sleeved T-shirt, leg warmers That first breath of cool, crisp, outdoor air after an intense yoga practice That surprise last stretch of hot days that makes you sad summer is gone, but grateful it will come again.
